Evan and Kimberly Torres

Biography

Evan is from the Pueblo of Acoma and Kimberly is from the Navajo Nation, Church Rock, New Mexico. Evan taught Kimberly how to bead in 2018 and together we handcraft beadwork using a variety of colors and beading techniques. For example, the Acoma Pottery designs drawn by Evan’s late grandmother who created them to paint pottery in the late 1960s. We now incorporate those designs in necklaces, bracelets, and various items we bead.

Evan and Kimberly have been featured in various shops and art shows like the Gallup Intertribal Ceremonial, in Church Rock, N.M., Sky City Cultural Center, in Acoma, N.M., El Malpias Visitors Center, Grants, N.M., Dispensary Near Me, Las Cruces, N.M., Double Six Gallery in Grants, N.M., The New Mexico Harvest/Growers Cup in Tularosa, N.M. and now the Art123 Gallery, Gallup, New Mexico.
