Spring Break Art Camp
March 13 – 17, 2023
Explore different media, make a meaningful project, be immersed in Gallup’s art history and scene, and meet local artists!

OVERVIEW
- Based out of Studio123 at ART123 Gallery
- Designed for kids ages 8 – 13
- 9am – 3pm each day, Monday – Friday
- All art materials provided
- Lunch not provided
- $150/camper
- Advanced registration required
- Camp Staff: Rose Eason (ED, gallupARTS) and Tasha Nez (Program Coordinator, gallupARTS)
CAMP SCHEDULE
- 9am – 12pm: Art Class with Tasha N.
Learn mixed media techniques like gelli printing and collage to create a 2D artwork with personal meaning. - 12 – 1pm: Lunch
- 1 – 2pm: Downtown Walking Field Trip
Tour the Rex Museum, Gallup Cultural Center, local arts businesses, and public art. - 2 – 3pm: Guest Artist Talk/Demo
Guest artists will include fashion designer and musician Darin Tom, digital media artist and painter Christian Bigwater, tattoo artist Mackenzie “Gents” Cheama, and printmaker Duhon James.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES:

- Drop off is from 8:45 – 9:00am.
- Children need to be picked up promptly at 3pm.
- Children should not attend if they are experiencing any symptoms of illness or have tested positive for COVID-19, if anyone in their household is sick or has tested positive for COVID-19, or if they have been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
- gallupARTS will provide drinking water for children, and water bottles are encouraged.
- Children must bring their own snacks and lunch (with lunch being required).
- Campers should dress in a manner that allows them to participate in all activities. Smocks/old T-Shirts are encouraged for morning sessions. Walking shoes, sunscreen, hats, jackets as needed depending on weather are encouraged for Walking Field Trips.
- gallupARTS is not responsible for personal property.
- gallupARTS is not equipped and will not distribute medication to any person under the age of 18. If a child requires medication while in gallupARTS’ care (including an inhaler), a parent or guardian must be present to administer that medication. Children’s medications will not be stored by gallupARTS.
- Children are expected to behave in a manner respectful of themselves, each other, instructors, craft materials, and the space.
- In case of an emergency, gallupARTS will first call provided emergency contact(s). If the emergency is life-threatening, gallupARTS will first call 911, and then call emergency contact(s).
- gallupARTS reserves the right to refuse service to any child/family who violates its stated policies/procedures.
